The center’s design evokes motion and reflects the area’s gentle, rolling fruited plains and sweeping lines. Elements such as flowers and caterpillars support the theme of “A Day in the Park.”
The center received a 2015 Kansas City Business Journal Capstone Award for Community Impact and sold 1,600 memberships in its first six months.
The facility features two slides that move users at different speeds. A timing system makes the faster slide more competitive. The flumes are carried outside to maximize interior space.
At the base of the treehouse sits an interactive water table, which encourages learning and group play. The treehouse top functions as a dumping device.
