Local news reports recounted two incidents where thieves targeted visitors at waterparks near Houston, Texas.
At Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Splashtown in Spring, Texas, police exposed something of an alleged operation that included five suspects accused of stealing from dozens of park visitors.
According to local ABC13, police said the suspects stole items from bags left unattended by lawn chairs while visitors were in the pool. Police said the suspects would move the $4,000 to $5,000 worth of stolen goods to lockers, then take the items in shifts to the parking lot. After noticing some of the individuals, a waterpark employee became suspicious and notified police.
In Katy, two people were arrested for allegedly stealing approximaetly $5,000 worth of goods from customers at Typhoon Texas.
As ABC13 reported, police tracked two stolen cellphones to a home in the area and made the arrest.
