The early swim school begun by former Olympian Lenny Krayzelburg is changing its name and offering franchises.
Formerly called the Lenny Krayzelburg Swim Academy, the school now is called SwimRight Academy Championed by Lenny Krayzelburg. The company also is adopting a brand redesign and beginning a franchising program, with the goal of having at least one SwimRight Academy in every state within the next five years. The company also expects to expand into the international market within that time frame.
Four-time Olympic gold medalist in the backstroke, Lenny Krayzelburg founded his swim school in 2005. The new name of the company is a reference to the proprietary SwimRight method taught in the schools. The system is anchored by the swim-float-swim technique and can accommodate children as young as three months old.
“Learning to swim is a critical part of a young child’s development - similar to learning to walk, talk or ride a bike - but it’s a skill that, if learned early, is proven to save lives,” said SwimRight CEO Krayzelburg. “We have seen tremendous results based on our exclusive teaching method and feel strongly that our established business model, operating in an economy-proof space, can be replicated nationwide because we are providing a lifesaving skill that is imperative for every child to have.”
