NSF/ANSI Standard 50 is referenced and required by most state and provincial health codes for pools, spas and water parks and by model building and construction codes such as ICC-ISPSC (International Code Council-International Swimming Pool and Spa Code) and IAPMO-USPSHTC (International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials), and draft modules of CDC-MAHC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention-Model Aquatic Health Code).
