The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals announced a new foundation called World of Recreational Water, to promote the sustainable use of recreational water worldwide. The official announcement was made at the International Awards of Excellence program in New Orleans, last week. CNA Foundation presented APSP with a $50,000 donation.

The mission of the new foundation is to promote the safe and sustainable use of recreational water through support of technical research and voluntary standards.  Guided by science, WRW fosters the conservation of water with promotion of water sustainability practices and energy efficient and emerging technology so that present and future generations can benefit from powerful health effects of recreational water, according to an APSP press release on the new foundation.

“Increasing demands are being placed on finite water resources across this country and the world, and we are extremely excited to introduce World of Recreational Water to the aquatic community,” said Bill Weber, president and CEO of APSP. “We are extraordinarily appreciative of CNA’s generous donation.”

"For more than 100 years, we have taken pride in measuring our success not only by our business results, but by our commitment to the communities where our employees work and where CNA does business, and our partnership with the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals is a great example of this longstanding tradition," said Jason Oswald, SPLASH Program Director, CNA.

The CNA Foundation is the nonprofit, private charitable giving entity of CNA. Through its matching gifts program and community involvement grants, the CNA Foundation provides vital funding to thousands of charities where CNA does business and where CNA employees live and work.
