For nearly two years, the American Red Cross has collaborated with St. Louis-based aquatics-facility specialist firm Counsilman-Hunsaker to deliver aquatic management services, such as the Red Cross Examiner Service.
Now, the two organizations provide a new web-based app to help with lifeguard management.
Called the Lifeguard Manager Application, it is designed to streamline staff tracking and reporting and help improve safety, compliance, efficiency and sustainability. The app is customizable to the organization. The Counsilman-Hunsaker and the Red Cross also said it is a “green” application. It also enables users to utilize real-time tracking of staff training, which helps reduce operational risk, the organizations added. It also features built-in data and analytical tools that allow managers to electronically document staff certifications, testing and evaluations, as a way to assist with code compliance.
“Our goal was to create a tool that would become a critical piece of any risk management plan” said Kevin Post, Counsilman-Hunsaker principal and director of aquatic operations. “This is the next step for our on-going collaboration with the American Red Cross, combining the experience and resources of two of the aquatic industry leaders to help facilities better manage their team.”
The Red Cross provided the guidelines for the app and helped with branding and marketing.
“We are excited to have worked with Counsilman-Hunsaker on this project,” said Joshua Rowland, aquatics product manager for the Red Cross. “Aquatic facility operators and supervisors will find the Lifeguard Manager Application a valuable resource that allows them to more easily and efficiently manage staff training, certifications and reporting.”
