The process of creating the next version of the Model Aquatic Health Code has begun.

The Council for the Model Aquatic Health Code is now taking change requests from stakeholders of the federal model pool and spa code. While the process will begin in earnest next year, the CMAHC is taking comments now to allow interested parties as much time as possible to participate.

Coordinated by the CMAHC under the supervision of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the code applies to commercial pool and aquatics facilities, but only in those states that choose to adopt it. It is updated every three years, with the most recent version released earlier this year.

To suggest changes for the 2021 edition of the MAHC, go to this page on CMAHC's website.

Anybody can file a change request, however only CMAHC members can provide comments on the change requests and vote for or against its inclusion.
