The National Swimming Pool Foundation (NSPF) has selected its recipients of the 2017 Step Into Swim Campaign, the organization's initiative to create 1 million more swimmers in 10 years.
Recipients of the grant include Angels of America’s Fallen, EVO Swim School, Jewish Community Center Association, New York State Parks, SwimToday, YMCA, and 14 individual learn-to-swim programs selected by Master Pools Guild members.
This year, NSPF raised $78,750 through donors who support the campaign. All donations are given directly to learn-to-swim programs with NSPF covering the administrative costs. Step Into Swim has helped more industry leaders engage with local water lovers, according to NSPF.
“Teaching children to swim is the one charitable gift that prevents drowning, improves health and happiness, and builds demand for everything around the pool,” said Thomas Lachocki, PhD, CEO of NSPF.
