Hoping to reach the busy aquatics professional, the National Swimming Pool Foundation recently launched an online training center that lets operators do part of their certification over the Internet.

Currently, five regulatory compliance classes are available. New operator training and certification portions will be launched in January.

?Times are changing,? said Tom Lachocki, Ph.D., CEO of the Colorado Springs, Colo.-based organization. ?We are broadening our menu to better serve students and employers.?

By March 31, 2007, NSPF will launch a total of 16 online eProAcademy classes in health care, occupational safety, environmental management and employment law. Courses include ?Bloodborne Pathogens for Health Care Workers,? ?Chlorine Safety,? ?Hazardous Waste Management,? ?Sexual Harassment for Employees? and ?Electrical Safety.?

There?s also Department of Transportation Training for drivers of hazmat shipments. The program also will assist operators and organizations in staying compliant with federal and state regulations.

?Online learning is quickly becoming the preferred classroom for busy professionals in many industries,? said Alex Antoniou, Ph.D., director of educational programs at NSPF. ?Growth isn?t about just perspiration; it is about education and perspiration.?
