The pool/spa distributor PoolCorp recently introduced its A Splash of Joy program to provide swimming lessons to children who might not otherwise receive them. It also will help fund lifeguard training to open job opportunities to those who couldn’t afford it on their own.

By year’s end, the company expects to donate $2.2 million for more than 20,000 scholarships for swim lessons and lifeguard instruction at YMCAs in underserved communities across the U.S. PoolCorp has partnered with YMCAs in eight metropolitan areas: Greater New Orleans; Tampa, Fla.; Greater San Antonio; Greensboro, N.C.; Phoenix; Milwaukee; Southeast Ventura County, California; and San Bernardino County, Calif.
