When Aquatica, SeaWorld’s waterpark, opened last spring it was the first major new park addition to the Orlando area in nearly a decade.
The South Seas-themed venue combines the waterpark experience with the marine life encounters of SeaWorld’s other properties. Aquatica’s signature ride is Dolphin Plunge, a clear tube slide that shoots riders through a pool of black and white Commerson’s dolphins. Other park animal life includes macaws and an array of colorful fish.
Aquatica also features more than 35 water slides, several river channels and lagoons, two wave pools and an 80,000-square-foot sandy beach. For children, there’s Walkabout Waters, a 15,000-square-foot aquatic playground highlighted by a 60-foot-tall interactive play structure.
