Waterpark description: Great Wolf Lodge in Scotrun, Pa., features an 80,000-square-foot North Woods-themed indoor waterpark with 12 water slides and several pools.

There’s a water coaster, lazy river, four tube slides, two body slides, a four-person raft ride and four kiddie slides. The pools include a gigantic wave pool, leisure pool, zero-depth-entry children’s activity pool, plus separate family and adult whirlpools.

Rounding out the attractions is Fort Mackenzie, a four-story, interactive treehouse water fort with a nearly 1,000-gallon dump bucket.

The “it” factor: The Great Wolf Lodge in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Mountain region is an all-suite resort featuring 11 suite configurations — including the Queen, Family Fireplace, Wolf Den, KidKamp, KidCabin, and Royal Bear options — to comfortably accommodate various family sizes.

The property’s two themed restaurants celebrate the “family table.” A comprehensive package of amenities includes the 80,000-square-foot indoor waterpark, spa, Scooops kid spa, arcade and children’s craft and activity room. The signature Great Wolf Resorts animated clock tower in the lobby is a guest favorite.
