A Chicagoland indoor water park resort has been recognized for its commitment to the community.

Gurnee, Ill.-based KeyLime Cove received the American Hotel & Lodging Association Outstanding Community Service Award during a conference in Washington, D.C. earlier this month.

The resort demonstrated its dedication to local Lake County residents by supporting a variety of non-profits and community events.

In 2013, KeyLime Cove raised $52,345 through its annual Community Days Campaign, to benefit the United Way of Lake County, Gurnee Police Department and the Gurnee Fire Department. More than $270,000 has been raised since the program launched four years ago.

Additionally, KeyLime Cove is a primary sponsor of the the Cook County Anti-Drug Poster Contest and provides one-night gift certificates to the winners. Key staff members also help judge artwork submitted by seventh and eighth grade students in Cook County.

KeyLime Cove also regularly donates to various charitable causes through the state of Illinois. Since 2010, the resort has given more than $178,000 in room value to a variety of children’s health and education causes.
