World's Largest Swimming Lesson Swimmers at Mexico City's Acuatica Nelson Vargas participate in the 2015 World's Largest Swimming Lesson.

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, organizers of the Worlds Largest Swimming Lesson are offering two date options for participants.

Originally set for June 18, the event now has an official date of July 16. Facilities may hold their events on that day in solidarity with others. However, participants do not have to observe that date for the event to count. They can hold their swim lessons anytime from June 1 to August 31.

“Safety is always the first priority for our aquatics community, and the WLSL program has been an important education and promotion tool for thousands of pools, waterparks and learn-to-swim providers,” said Rick Root, president of the World Waterpark Association, which organizes WLSL. “Whether they join us on July 16th or another date in June, July or August, we want to work with as many locations as possible to ensure children and adults are exposed to water safety and learn to swim messagesthis season.”

Aquatic facility registration will remain open at WLSL.org through August 17th, 2020.
