HAWAIIAN FIVE-OH is an Ohio based company that is owned and managed by the Russell Family of Lebanon, Ohio. Bob Russell founded this business in 1992 after spending a long and successful career with Control Data Corporation. Mr. Russell held various technical and sales positions in his 26 years with CDC with his last position being that of Vice President, Sales and Service in Columbia Md.
HAWAIIAN FIVE-OH started as a retail store in Lebanon OH and quickly expanded to 10 retail stores ( mostly trailers in parking lots). Product became so popular that we started working with Al Weist of Magic Ice Product in Stockton Ca. With Al’s help we started distributing the Magic Ice Flavors under the Hawaiian Five-OH brand.
Our wholesale business grew dramatically over the last five years. We expanded our product line to slush products as well as increasing our Hawaiian Shave Ice products. At the close of 2000 we had over 500 customers in 36 states.
In 2010 we purchased Magic Ice Products from the Weist family. Al had passed away in 1998 and had left his business to his family. His son Mike was general manager.
Our acquisition of Magic Ice was assisted by Tom Beal of Cincinnati OH. Tom and his family ran the manufacturing and Hawaiian Five Oh ran the sales effort. In 2012 the Russell family took over the manufacturing and now all products are produced in Lebanon OH.
