As so many municipalities have, the city of Jasper, Okla., decided to convert the site of its 70-plus-year-old pool into a multi-pool facility serving a wider audience.
The team crafted high-energy features and play elements for the main vessel, designed for families. Here, visitors find a zero-entry leisure pool, interactive water-play elements, and a sunshelf with loungers. Three large slides were chosen to offer distinct experiences—one with a lower height and extended runout; an open, tall plunge slide; and a closed, tall plunge slide.
For the more fitness-minded, the team included lap lanes and a current loop. A ninja-style obstacle course provides an exciting activity for older kids.
Shaded seating, gathering areas, and generous deck space promote relaxation and social interaction.

The center was laid out to promote smooth traffic flow and prevent congestion. Family-focused zones take their place near the facility entrance for accessibility and easy supervision. The ninja course serves as a transitional element, connecting the spray area and current loop, which meanders through the entire space.
The contemporary styling of the Jasper Municipal Pool was designed to enhance a sense of spaciousness, visual clarity, and energy. Open deck space, clear organization, and unobstructed sightlines enhance the feel and ease supervision. Neutral tones, natural stone, and understated architectural elements are used on the buildings and support structures to represent the city’s strength and character, while providing a more quiet backdrop so the vibrantly colored aquatics features can take center stage.
The facility immediately proved itself a worthwhile investment: In its first season, more than 32,000 guests attended, setting a new record. It reached capacity most days.
With open deck space, clear organization, and unobstructed sightlines, visitors enjoy an expansive, feel, while lifeguards, parents, and guardians can
easily supervise.
