A teenage lifeguard in Oregon has been exonerated of child sex charges.
Mitchell Kelly, a swim coach at Sunset Athletic Center in Portland, who was arrested last summer at age 17 for allegedly touching two young girls in a secluded room, has been found not guilty, according to KOIN.
After his arrest, he served one month in jail, plus another nine under house arrest, before heading to trial, the news agency reported.
“I felt like I had this cancer and the doctor said I had a certain amount of time to live,” Kelly said. “This is my nightmare as I’m sitting in the courtroom right before the jury comes in,” Kelly said. “There’s two outcomes… 25 years or freedom.”
