Weekly Warm-Up: Team Tow Part 3

You taught two to tow together. Let's add a third to the mix.

1 MIN READ

In this final installment on team towing techniques, we’re looking at the logistics of a three-person rescue team.

As with the previous two exercises, you’ll want the victim face up, supported by the rescue tube with a good open airway. The difference here, obviously, is you’ll now have three guards assisting in the extrication.

The primary and secondary lifeguards should be mirroring each other with their hold on the victim, while the third lifeguard supports the victim at the knees.

It’s important the Lifeguard No. 3 isn’t pushing from behind, DeQuincy notes. Watch the video to learn what could happen when the third lifeguard goes too hard, too fast.
